My Take on Cambodia

More than just a third world country

Add more value. Really, add more.

— Oscar Wilde.

Living in Cambodia, where the nation is still recovering from a national cataclysm, the Khmer Rouge, my observations served paramount in inducing my will to concoct positive changes within my community. It is extremely commonplace to witness a luxurious sedan bolting through a red light while a group of malnourished children roam nude. Here, my penchant to observation impelled me to become a proactive leader within my Cambodian community- initiating measures of empathy concerning disadvantaged Cambodians. Turning my observations into efficacious actions, I stand today as an activist for Cambodian factory workers, a Korean teacher, and a cook at a local village.
